Quick answer. GeraNexus is Gera's agent-to-agent commerce layer. In Ghana it will settle over MTN MoMo and GhIPSS, honour Bank of Ghana PSS Act supervision on the payment leg, respect DPC data-sharing rules, and route cross-border ECOWAS payments via regional agent wallets. Early access is open to Ghanaian fintechs and MSMEs via the GeraNexus waitlist.

What GeraNexus is

GeraNexus lets software agents transact with other agents and with humans without humans in the loop for each call. Think of it as MCP extended to include identity, payment, receipt, and dispute — so an AI assistant can book a GeraClinic consult, pay from a GeraCash wallet, and receive a verifiable receipt, all cryptographically signed by an authorised agent.

Ghana rails — MTN MoMo, GhIPSS, GhQR

For the Ghana launch, GeraNexus settles agent-initiated payments over the Bank of Ghana-supervised payment rails that Ghanaians already use: MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money (via GhIPSS Mobile Money Interoperability), GhQR, and GhIPSS Instant Pay to any Ghanaian bank. Transactions denominated in ₵; cross-currency flows clear via GeraCash with a published FX spread.

Regulation: BoG PSS Act, DPC, CSA, NCA

Agent-initiated payments in Ghana operate under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987). Bank of Ghana supervision extends to any PSP that provides the actual funds movement; GeraNexus is a protocol layer above that, not an unlicensed payer. Agent identity and data sharing follow the Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843) under the Data Protection Commission (DPC). Cyber Security Act 2020 (Act 1038) obligations for incident reporting to the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) apply. NCA rules apply where agents traverse telecom networks, especially for MoMo rails.

Pricing in ₵

  • Developer tier — free for <1,000 agent calls / month.
  • Startup tier — ₵450 / month for <50k calls.
  • Business tier — ₵1,800 / month + usage, includes DPC compliance export.
  • Enterprise — custom, with dedicated Ghanaian data-residency option.

Use cases in Ghana

  • Your personal AI assistant orders weekly GeraEats from a consistent shortlist.
  • A Ghanaian SME's bookkeeper agent reconciles MoMo receipts into QuickBooks overnight.
  • A cocoa cooperative's agent books Jetstream freight to Tema Port autonomously.
  • A diaspora remittance bot pays school fees at KNUST on the first of every month.
  • A health-plan concierge books GeraClinic follow-ups based on patient-recorded BP readings.

ECOWAS agent-to-agent commerce

Agent identities in GeraNexus use did:web + GeraCash attestations. An agent registered in Accra can transact with a Nigerian agent registered in Lagos under AfCFTA digital-trade protocols without both sides re-doing KYC, provided both are registered under their home-country PSP. This unlocks automated ECOWAS B2B trade — the kind of small-ticket, high-frequency flows that human-intermediated banking has never served economically.

What's live today vs. coming soon

The public MCP spec is published; reference implementations connect to GeraCash testnet. Production launch in Ghana is gated on BoG PSP partnership confirmation and DPC registration as a data controller. We expect general availability in the second half of 2026.
